Overview:
Join our Walking Guide, Pip Line, on a fantastic week discovering the glaciers and high Alpine meadows of the beautiful Vanoise National Park, where you will stay in mountain refuges to really experience the beauty of the area.
The Vanoise National Park is an area of high mountains (the highest almost 4,000m) and glaciers. The tranquillity of the area has been preserved for the flora and fauna, which is in all its glory in July.
This Tour of the Vanoise will take into the high Alpine meadows and rocky hillsides. You will be walking over famous Cols and beneath glaciers and ice sheets.
Staying in refuges allows us to stay high in the hills and savour a complete immersion in our Savoyarde mountain environment.We will hope to see local wildlife Ibex,Chamois, Marmot and Lammergeier and Golden Eagles during our time out in the mountains.
Walking distances are not overly long, to give us time in each day to make the most of being in this beautiful and remote area.
The cost for the week is £750 per person to include;
- 6 days guided walking as per schedule
- 5 nights accommodation in mountain refuges, 2 nights accommodation in a 3* hotel; NB. The sleeping arrangements are ‘dormitory-style’ in the refuges. There are limited washing facilities and simple loos. In the hotel you will have your own private room.
- all meals throughout the trip NB, the meals are set menus in the refuges. Vegetarians can be catered for but you MUST tell us PRIOR to arrival.
- local transport to and from walks and luggage moved between accommodation
- transport to and from the station of arrival / departure
The costs to you are flights, all meals, holiday insurance, drinks in the refuges and souvenirs.
NB, we do not take over 10 people per trip and places are on a first-come, first-served basis.
